  1. A fabulous singer in a breath taking show that takes you through the life of the amazing Josephine Baker, who fled the racism of the US in the early 1900’s for fame and acceptance in Paris, ultimately becoming a Resistance spy and civil rights icon.

Well written and balanced, to cover 60 years in a believable manner. Many brilliant costume changes and vignettes true to the spirit of Ms. J.

The elements that marred it for me were actorish giggles and hmmms that should get drummed out of you in first year theatre school, and overly stylized staging that left barely any frontal views for audience attending theatre in the round, particularly during songs.

As Tymisha Harris was superlative in all other respects, with a successful background, I’d blame the director. I think this woman deserves better direction. Both these flaws need to be addressed BY an objective third party, and don’t really reflect on this supremely talented performer with an emotional range as large as her gorgeous voice. And oh, those expressive, lovely hands and eyes.

  2. Is it Fringe or Broadway? What a fantastic show. I am so glad I prebought tickets because I wouldn’t have wanted to miss this one.

  3. I loved this show, 5 ⭐️ and one of the best I’ve seen in 20+ years of going to the Fringe, see this if you can.

  4. Beautifully danced, wonderful voice and a true story all in one! Thank you for coming to WPG Fringe. In my book, the best of Fringe! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
