Generic Male: Just What We Need, Another Show About Men

“Just what we need, another show about men.” – Raves No One

Explosive, athletic, visceral physical theatre ruined by a tragic lack of understanding.

Award-winning PUSH Physical Theatre, called “a perfect metaphor-in-motion” by CITY Newspaper and “a rare treat” by NY Theatre Guide, creates a masculinity satire by two well-meaning fools – arguing, dancing, desperately clinging to the status quo.

Are we just watching a couple of petty idiots or is this the most insightful piece of theatre of the 21st century? … No.

  1. Rare to see a show both so technically proficient and creatively organic. This is a wonderful piece of real theatre. Go see it!

  2. WOW! One of my favourite Fringe shows of all time. The physicality, humour, and social commentary were all OUTSTANDING! Mind-blowing physical theatre, I might just have to watch it a second time before the end of Fringe.

  3. Loved the performers’ physicality and fluidity of movement. Awesome performance and great way to draw in audience participation. It had a lot of different parts that didn’t always flow well, however all parts were entertaining and well done.

  4. I really enjoyed this show! The physical performance by Darren is breath taking and with Dj’s lighting just sheer perfection. Ashley is not far behind with an amazing performance that will make you laugh, relate, and at times fear. Very thankful they brought their show to Winnipeg

  5. Best show I’ve seen in a long time! Incredible physical performance, laugh out loud comedy, and truly touching look at how to explode stereotypes.

  6. Generic Male won the Outstanding Overall Production award, the Volunteer’s Choice Award and a Best of Fest award at the Ottawa Fringe.
