I Hope You Know

Niko and Dave have a complicated relationship. Niko being a 21-year-old queer theatre student and Dave being a (slightly conservative) middle-aged man. So, when they see each other for the first time since Niko was a kid, their conversation becomes just that. Complicated. With a short time limit and a monologue deadline on the horizon, Niko and Dave have to sort things out before this train ride is over, or they might never have the chance.

I Hope You Know is a heartfelt and comedic drama about finding connection with the people you need it from the most. It tackles the things we wish we could say to our parents and what we wish our parents would say to us. Written semi-autobiographically by Adia Branconnier, this piece is performed by the very people it’s written about.
