  1. WAIT SO IT WAS IMPROV THE WHOLE TIME!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! YALL ARE LYING TO ME
    NOW IM SO CONFUSED 😭😭
I really did not expect the plot to turn so dark like that. They definetly succeeded in creating the uncomfortable vibe by the lighting and the sheer darkness in the main character’s tone. It’s a very creative concept, to fool the audience into coming for some light hearted improv just to have a fully scripted show that turns darker until the main character is worse then they’ve ever been before, and they haven’t started out too hot. That being said, I genuinely got concerned for the actors. I understand that’s part of the point, but sometimes the actors wouldn’t project, so when Kevin apologized to the audience saying it’s not a bit, and then walked offstage saying “f*ck you guys”, I was so sure the lights were going to shut down and we would’ve walked out of the theatre early. If that part was executed a bit cleaner, I would’ve felt a bit more reassured that these actors weren’t just continuing a show fuming at eachother secretly. Once it was clear this was scripted, I evaluated the plot. I was really sad for the girlfriend’s character, when she forgave him for cheating but didn’t forgive him for visiting his dad ☹. I felt like the character arc for the main character was certainly not progressive.
The ending was a cherry on top, with Kevin dissosiating onstage with jam covered pasta infront of him, but at that point, the show was ended and I was already confused and concerned at first, so that just made me wonder again if the actors are okay.
Regardless, this is such an abstract show, and a very creative concept. It felt like the themes, especially the uncomfortable themes, were very well executed.
But reading all these reviews, I’m wondering once again..
Other then the audience participation bits, how much of it was improv?? Because if that plot was improvised, it was really good, but from the nature of it, I sincerely doubt it was.
The title seems to make the show seem like it would be lighthearted. (Whether this is improv or not, because the reviews are confusing me and I might need to see it again): beware, this show dealt with dark themes.. at least when I saw it?

  2. This show was not exactly what I expected. It was darker and more dramatic than most improv I’ve experienced before. I did find it a little hard to follow at times, but I was very tired when I went, so that could contribute.
One small note – one of the performers (the one who held the applause sign upside down) spoke a little too softly for me to hear them, at times.

That said – this company’s improv skills are phenomenal. If I had not been there at the beginning when they collected the suggestions, I would have believed it was scripted. There were no real lapses, no obvious goofs or missteps. Their skills and chemistry blew me away. How they incorporated light and sound just heightened the experience.

  3. It was very dark with a self harming scene. Not very funny for improv. I found it fairly traumatic and this show, with no warning, could induce PTSD related trauma to some. Be wary.

  4. Hilarious audience participation, yet does deal with darker topics at times. I’d be cautious attending this show if I had a history of mental health issues.
