jem rolls ADVENTURES IN CANADIAN PARKING LOTS

  • jem rolls / big word

High-energy English performance poet.

Has done more Fringe Festivals than anyone on earth this century.

Brand new show featuring dumb comedy, smart comedy and dark tales.

This is poetry as a singular mix of theatre, humour, rhythm and movement.

45+ 5 STAR reviews. 200+ 4 STAR.

5 STARS “Dynamic, hilarious, riveting.” – Winnipeg Free Press.

“Dynamic, riveting, hilarious.” Scotsman.

5 STARS “Highest calibre… Genius.” – Montreal Gazette.

“Absolute master… Bravo.” Vancover Sun

That great gift, the English language, stretched to breaking point.

A comic trailer for the Fringe. An experiment in spoken sci-fi. The man so acutely vulnerable he brings the vulture out in everyone. A cool and trendy grandma is rubbish. And simply walking down any street imagining what movie everyone is in.

  1. I love Jem Rolls’s dynamic, quirky, and oh-so-British storytelling style, whether he is recounting the life of a lesser-known Manhattan Project scientist or the time he was trapped on a beach in India during COVID lockdown. So, going into this show, I was expecting exactly what it said on the tin: funny stories relating to parking lots. Instead, what I got was an eclectic collection of spoken-word pieces on all manner of topics (including one on British exceptionalism with the pun-tastic title “Think Back of England and Lie”!) delivered in classic Jem Rolls style. I was surprised, but certainly not disappointed. Still well worth seeing!

  2. What lurks in Canadian parking lots, another Jem Rolls masterpiece.
Our favorite Fringe wordsmith has done it again with humor and thought with his newest conquest.
    A must see, 4.7/5 🙏😃

  3. Jem Rolls is always a good bet, and this show is no exception. Humourous and captivating, Jem is a master poet. 4 stars
