Winnipeg-based dance artists present three contemporary solos that offer introspective reflections on the intricacies of self-discovery, human connection, and routine.
Solitude Salsa (Hilary James) explores time spent alone – where loneliness and freedom go hand in hand. In our most private and authentic state our deepest desires, fears, and quirks are brought to the surface.
These Things Take Time (Brooke Hess) explores the unfolding of the human experience—forming connections, grieving loss, encountering setbacks, creating, rebuilding, and even the simple act of preparing a meal.
Note (Emma Beech & Naomi Wiebe) tracks the spatial compositions that come from moving through routines, and asks how we are connected (or not) to these repetitive motions.
Beautiful and poignant vignettes of life; uplifting, and constantly compelling. This feels like a beautiful and stunningly-choreographed exploration of the mundane experiences and complexities of life alike. Go and see this wonderful show & its three brilliant parts!
