5 STARS “A gothic experience that should not be missed by any lover of the spooky or occult.”
Cute spiritual show to watch, love the twist and turns in story flow.
For anyone interested in Spirtiualism, This is the show!
Great fun and makes you think. It’s well-written, and the actors do a wonderful job. Seance Sisters is my favorite show so far at Fringe.
This is a fantastically atmospheric retelling of the story of the Fox Sisters, a trio of girls from New York who, in the mid-19th century, almost single-handedly launched the Spiritualist movement. Delivered in the manner of one of the sisters’ seances, with dimmed lights, delightfully creepy line deliveries, and authentic methods used by 19th-century mediums (table moving, slates, automatic writing, planchettes etc.), it gives a good idea of what one of these sessions might have looked and felt like. This meticulously authentic core slides effortlessly into some clever historical fiction to wrap things up, though if I had to make one critique it is that some of the dialogue in this section is a bit overlong and on-the-nose and could use some editing. Otherwise, well worth seeing!
Good show with lots of cool elements. Little bit of magic. Little bit of storytelling. Some funny bits. It was a good experience.
The Séance Sisters don’t just perform — they pull you into their world. Eerie, funny, and strangely intimate.
Seance Sisters, part history and part spooky. Lots of fun!
So cool! Super theatrical and spooky, so well done.
4/5 stars, was super fun and spooky. It really brought you into the world of the Fox sisters. If you like storytelling and a bit of spookiness this is the play for you.
Part seance and part Shakespearean drama, Seance Sisters is beautifully written and performed!
