SHIT: The Musical

  • Misty Mountain Music

Associate professor Doctor Eaton Fartmore, a disgruntled biology instructor in a small university and self-described expert in shit, is bullied into teaching a last-minute semantics class, with hilarious results.

In a lecture filled with songs and stories, the vengeful professor makes sure the class will never think of semantics – or shit – the same way again.

  1. I enjoyed the shit out of this show. I wasn’t expecting “The Phantom of the Opera” from a one-person Fringe performance, so I was ready for anything. This show delivered with classic toilet bowl humour, plenty of poop puns, catchy songs and even some educational tidbits. The people in front of me were busting a gut throughout the show, and I couldn’t recommend it enough… so I did to some of my friends.

  2. This was a funny show, it was as intended, a funny story about poop and farts. It’s no deeper than a toilet bowl, and that was perfectly fine with me. Zero expectations for this show so I found it just a fun silly way to pass an hour. We had a mic’d performance so sound was not an issue.

  3. This show lives up to its name. The songs were poorly written and lacked variety, and Dr. Fartmore’s voice is not suited for singing. With the name being “shit” some potty humour is to be expected, but it was all poop jokes with graphic descriptions. You’ll have a better time actually pooping.

  4. Adding a microphone to this performance did not redeem it. The vocals were not just weak, they were barely melodic. This show is not a musical, it is a play that repeats its peculiar dialogue with a backing track. The musical interludes had next to no variety, did not serve purpose, and were amateurly executed. Unless you need a refresher of 6th grade grammar definitions and crass descriptions of types of feces with no relation to a plot, I’d save your time and not see this show in its current iteration. Perhaps with a different cast, and a lot of re-writes, this concept could be fleshed out into something that could pass as enjoyable.

  5. This was a funny and cute show. It is clear that he was there for a good time. Definitely recommend for those who want a good laugh.

  6. I thought the script was brilliant but Dr. Fartmore would have benefited by using a microphone. While his enthusiasm was undeniable, his vocal performance didn’t quite hit the right notes.

  7. Enjoyed the show, fortunately we sat in the front row.
    Informative and funny.
Sadly he not have a strong singing voice so people from the third row and up were struggling to hear the dialogue.

  8. This one left us wanting. The choice to go without amplification left many patrons struggling to catch all the dialogue especially in the songs. His singing voice was not strong enough to carry off the number of songs as a soloist so we had trouble staying engaged. Well prepared and ran smoothly with no hiccups at all, the humor might just not have been our cup of tea.

  9. SHIT: the musical was a hilarious and informative musical! The crowd was in hysterics!
