Strange Things: A Stranger Things Parody

Meraki Theatre

The year is 1983 and it appears to be another ordinary night in the town of Hawk. Will heads home after spending the evening with his best friends Dustin, Lucas and Mike. But right on cue, as if it had been written that way, a thunderstorm rolls in, ready to flip Will’s life upside down.

A comical mystery filled with “missing” kids (maybe), mysterious creatures (definitely real monsters) and questionable government secrets. Join Meraki Theatre and their all-teen cast of Strange Things: A Stranger Things Parody!.

From the team behind the sold-out run of BugJuice and the 5 STAR production of Rewritten, this musical will bring humour, heart, waffles, and proves that friendship makes even the strangest adventures worthwhile.

  1. It was cute. The only suggestions I have for next time is that most of the performers need to work on thier projection ( or use microphones). It was sometimes hard to hear the dialog although some of the actors were loud enough ( the actors playing Steve, Dustin, Joyce and Hopper were fine). Also, maybe the actors who could actually sing be the ones singing the musical numbers. Otherwise it was entertaining.

  2. Had me in absolute stitches. This casting is perfection. The blocking and directing is amazing! And the practical effects are a real bonus! 5/5!!

  3. Parodies like this from Meraki are always a guaranteed “haha!” What a wonderful run I saw! Beautifully casted! Not for a moment did I think someone was squirming under the skin of their role! (And that is genuine). Props to everyone for being in their roles with such a strong characterization and keeping up the high energy this type of show needs! I was trying to think of some actors to shoutout…. but the cast as a unit was just so strong, while also shining as they went through their own track.
    Bravo & congrats!

  4. Loved this show of very talented teens! Great vocals, had us laughing throughout and you don’t have to be a Stranger Things fan to enjoy every minute! A surprising favourite!!! Highly recommend .

  5. Sold out on opening night! The all-teen cast brought great energy and had the audience laughing throughout the entire show. Very entertaining and definitely worth seeing if you’re a Stranger Things fan!
