Literally one of the best things I saw in the Fringe this year. I was in awe and so captivated the whole time as our main narrator took us through his life and his feelings toward his surroundings.
Easily one of the best shows I’ve ever watched, including outside of the Fringe festival. I genuinely believe this show can go on tour. Actually, I would go as far as saying that it SHOULD. The cast all did truly amazing, but my God, they hit a home run with Toby Hughes as Otto/Rudy. He’s very active in the Winnipeg theatre scene as an actor and this show helps cement why that’s the case. The script itself is gold but the whole cast delivers it in such a realistic and delicate way. The direction was outstanding – no movement or space on set was wasted. Speaking of the set – very efficiently used and designed. Same goes for the costuming. Shout out to their tech crew for hitting all the cues perfectly and helping deliver a seamless show.
Hannah Moscovitch’s script is already a homerun, but this cast and creative team make it a grand slam into the upper deck.
Toby Hughes commands the stage from the moment he walks on, sucking you right into the story, and the supporting cast was also stellar. The production quality is top-tier; this could easily slot into an MTC Warehouse season.
A must-see at this year’s Fringe!
Excellent theatre in all ways – the story, the acting, the staging, the directing. A challenging theme and so well executed. Kept us thinking and reflecting. A very memorable performance.
I would agree with all the great reviews that have been submitted. So far- the acting in this play was among the best I have seen since year one of fringe- I have attended and volunteered since 1988 and they rank among the best. What a topic to tackle – and the writing was smart- moments of comedy- moments of tears. Want to see great acting? A thought provoking and moving show? Well this one should be added to your list !

This show absolutely blew us away! It tackles complex issues with expert delicacy, and leaves the audience with a lot to process. If you have the time (and emotional capacity), you can’t afford to pass this one up.

This show was amazing! Right from the get-go, Paul had us sucked in to his world with his inherent knack of storytelling. The actors were phenomenal, the script was very well presented and everything about the show was done right. They took us on a journey that was completely captivating right through to the very end.

You are sucked into this play from the moment the lights go up. All three actors were phenomenal and the storyline is unforgettable. I could literally go home from fringe without seeing another single play and feel fulfilled.
Very interesting, very emotional. A wonderful show that explores what we inherit from our families and what we do with it.
