Mennonite Metamorphosis: How to become a secular Mennonite in 500 years or less!

BirdsEye Productions

This story is a cleverly crafted 7-step self-help program. Born in Steinbach – the Mennonite Mecca of Manitoba – and raised in the Winnipeg suburbs, Banman struggles throughout her life to stay on the straight and narrow.

Join her as she recounts the trials and tribulations of growing up in an evangelical Mennonite home with a mother whose own refugee experiences have a lasting effect.
“Banman’s storytelling is highly personal, yet also hits on many broader truths that will resonate with anyone who has fought with their upbringing, endured shame-soaked love, or found themselves having a breakdown in a staff meeting.” – Kingston Theatre Alliance
Winner of the “BIGGEST BUZZ AWARD, 2025” – Guelph Fringe Festival

  1. Go see this one woman show!
Raw, real, well written and performed. Here’s hoping it was as cathartic for Sandra to share her story as it was moving for us to hear.

  2. Full of humanity, heart, and humour. Great writing and beautifully acted. Left me thinking long after the show was over, both after the first time I saw it in Kingston a couple of years ago, and now. Lots to get out of it, very much worth seeing.
