Four Hearts

The Improv Company

Four Hearts is a darkly comic improvised play exploring the comedy of love, betrayal and strained family ties.

Inspired by the raw realism of Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Arthur Miller’s All My Sons and August Wilson’s Fences, an ensemble of original cast and veteran local actors interview the audience for gossip to create four characters based on real viewpoints.
Set during a volatile dinner party, the show examines what happens when illusions are stripped away and only truth remains. Even the performers are surprised to discover which relationships endure and which shatter.

After acclaimed runs in Colombia, Japan and Seattle, Four Hearts brings its spontaneously truthful theatre to Winnipeg!

  1. I saw this with my daughter and after she said, “ that didn’t feel like watching acting, that felt like we got a glimpse into someone’s life”. It was brilliantly done!

  2. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Four Hearts is a captivating improvised play. The four actors craft a compelling story drawn from individual audience member’s input, revealing the details only at the end. It’s engaging, playful, and remarkable to watch, especially knowing the entire performance is improvised rather than rehearsed. A dynamic, unpredictable show that makes you want to return, since no two performances could ever be the same.
