Geräuschbiest’s brotherly harmonies carry the story, shaped by purpose-made new instruments, while the Riel Gentlemen’s Choir becomes a chorus of workers building a tower live onstage, and singing the thrill of human ingenuity.
At first, they move as one. But as ambition grows, that unity begins to crack. When language starts to fracture, the structure, and the people holding it together, begin to unravel in real time.

This show was spectacular, moving, and thought-provoking.
I don’t think it’s any exaggeration to say that this is about as close to the origins of Ancient Greek theatre as we can get. Musical odes and episodes which tell a story and a chorus which interprets the songs.
The music and visual storytelling was moving in its own right, but this ancient story is still so relevant to the world we live in today.

What an incredible piece they created! Between the wonderful singing and the amazing one of a kind instruments, it was musically so interesting that I wanted to soak up every word! The choreography and visual storytelling also “hit the nail on the head”, emphasizing the music, and certainly kept the watcher engaged the entire time.
I left the W.E.C.C. feeling so moved, with a deeper understanding of life and of humanity. It caused me to reflect on our relationship to the work we do – both personally and collectively. I also am more curious about the actual Bible scripture, yet I still felt it was accessible to me given the little I came in knowing.
I was not sure if this was an original piece, or written by someone outside the choir. But I have been told this is a 100% locally made performance. Jesse and Thomas, and all the Riel Gentlemen – you should be so proud of your creation! I would go see this again, in a heartbeat.
This show reminded me of the power of art, music, storytelling, and theatre; the way we share creative ideas and the importance of doing so.
I feel like being in this audience was a gift. The thought I had after leaving: “THIS is why we create art!”
