A Kid Napping is a chaotic, darkly comedic romp where nothing goes according to plan. Told through the lens of a group of wildly unqualified criminals who attempt the worst and most ridiculous kidnapping imaginable, spiraling into miscommunication, ego and total mayhem.
Blending physical theatre, clown and high-stakes humour, the show unravels into something unexpectedly human. As tensions rise and plans fall apart, what begins as a crime becomes a hilarious exploration of desperation, care and being completely in over your head.
Fast-paced and unpredictable, it invites audiences to laugh, cringe and question who they’re really rooting for.
Had a funny guest on my night! (24th) and the two main actors did flawlessly as they told a whacky colourful story! Possibly full of glue and glitter…
A solid script, a fun set, and two great performers with wonderful chemistry playing a pair of highly engaging characters. That said, I felt the premise could have used a bit of tweaking. I wonder what this show would have looked like if instead of talking to disembodied voices, this duo interacted with an actual child who was oblivious to the fact that they were being kidnapped and this became a three-person show. Still good as it is, but I feel like it could have been great if they had another performer to act as a foil to their shenanigans.
Wonderful comedy duo. Bravo!
These two make such a great comedy duo! If you’re looking for a light-hearted show, you won’t be disappointed by this show.
Hilarious concept and some great laughs. These two have lots of potential, and hope to see them at more Fringes in the future! I wish some of their floor work was a little further upstage for the venue they had as the audience in high rows missed out on some of it. But go see the show – they are sharing some proceeds with Rossbrook House. Support the show and support the children!!!
This show is a one of a kinda fringe show. I was excited to see the comedic duo back as I remembered them from Brain last year. I was surprised to say the least, in the best way possible! A powerhouse of a team, I can’t wait to see more from them.
