Jill and Derek are excited to host the first meeting of their new book club. Actually, only Jill is excited; Derek would rather have dental surgery, so he is going to do anything he can to derail the meeting.
Jill’s agenda for the evening and her guest list have nothing to do with a love of books. Add in a few surprise attendees, and who knows what will happen?
One thing is for certain, this event has very little to do with books. But what is it about? To find out, you will have to come and spy on the premiere meeting of book lovers.
This show was fun to watch, & had pretty funny surprises along the way.
They all played their characters so well. As an actor myself, kinda makes me wonder if they really are like that in real life 😬😬. Well done everyone !!!
First half settled us into a familiar format. Second half was truly a Fringe show: unexpected, hitting you with the momentum of a freight train, and hilarious. The sheer chaos was the highlight for me!
I loved this show. It was a fun romp with a few nice twists that had me laughing. Strong leads held down an energetic performance with many characters and intertwining storylines.
My companions and I enjoyed it very much.
Pretty sure I just watched the alternate ending to Game of Thrones…
Absurd and creative, yeah I’ll go with that, or unexpected.
Fun Performance.
I wasn’t expecting the crazy journey of a book club gone wrong, I actually don’t remember WHAT I was expecting because this was way better than whatever I thought this was going to be about xD
Awesome job!
I went in expecting a predictable sitcomesque story, canned jokes and laughter. I was genuinely surprised by a couple of twists, a fun performance over all.
Don’t listen to the nay-sayers. There’s a lot of sabotage-reviews out this year. Anonymous cowards bringing down others to satisfy their delicate egos.
This show was hilarious and features extremely strong performances from the leads who are supported by some hilarious characters and physical comedians. The tension between Jill and Derek is almost too real but I’ll let you decide who the protagonist really is here. There are more than a few unexpected surprises throughout the story as well as a satisfying end. I won’t say any more or spoil further.
The full house of 200+ people picked up on the energy between the mains which resulted in so many pauses for laughter to die down I believe the show ran overtime a bit.
Go see it. 4/5 stars
The girl that plays Laura (yes she is sexy) but more over I love her expressions.
This show was like a lasagna… stacked thin layers with a thicker sauce in between!
Today was the 11th play that I have attended. I can say in all honestly it was the best play yet. I’m dismayed by the nasty comments from others who seem to be clueless about what good theatre is, The play was funny, entertaining and well done. To the cast job well done and don’t let the negativity from a few get you down.
Came in with high hopes and was disappointed. Poorly written, woodenly acted, and a lot of characters sitting around doing nothing while two or three characters had an aside conversation among themselves. Actors needed to project more to be heard in such a large venue. I think the WFP 3-stars was generous. I’d have given it 1 1/2- 2 myself.
I didn’t laugh once. This play was so predictable, it bored me half to death. It was awkward and I kept looking at my friend with the “what have we come to?” look. The script was full of unneeded dialogue that created so many cringe moments. Sorry not sorry. 1/5
Lots of miscast actors, lots of poorly written dialogue. You really have to turn your brain off to have a decent time. Skip this one.
Fun, dynamic cast. Really enjoyed the twists.
Wonderful performance today, I and all of the audience loved it. So many laughs and plot twists, funniest and best performed play I’ve seen so far. The only one I felt compelled to write about,
Wow – what an incredible show! This cast and performance are extremely tight and entertaining. I was not expecting the twists and turns at all – completely blown away!
Terrific play, well written and acted, always a new twist or turn. Thoroughly enjoyable. 5 Stars
Fantastic performances by this ensemble cast. Fast and witty with terrific comedic timing and confidence. I will be seeing this one again.
Creative, fun, & was repeatedly surprised throughout and incredible acting by all! Bravo 👏🏼 must see (:
