Dead Chef is a musical comedy that follows brothers Eric and Derek Waters—owners of a high-end restaurant, Eau Bouillante. On the night they are trying to earn their first Michelin star, their head chef drops dead. With the help of their front of house manager, the Waters brothers must fake their way through dinner service. Dead Chef is Weekend at Bernie’s meets Ratatouille meets a big fun musical experience.

5 stars for Dead Chef. A clever, energetic, witty old school physical comedy with brilliant musical numbers tossed in for good measure. So, so good.

No lag time, just nothing but fun – singing, dancing (dancing??), physical and subtle comedy, for full on belly laughs. Don’t miss your chance to see this show.

I could go the easy route and say this show was like eating “post traumatic soup”, but it was more like eating beef ribs with a side of crusty buttery bread
Trying to catch your breath between clever jokes and well timed physical comedy is near impossible through this hour long musical comedy. Dead Chef most certainly had a lively pulse from start to finish. If you can only see one show this season—this is it!

We brought our out of town friend to this show, which is always risky. But it turned out to be a great choice. The acting, writing, and jokes were so well done. Lots of laugh-out-loud moments.

An absurdly creative and hysterical performance by all. Excellent script, cast, music and delivery. JHG Creative tops their previous sell-out shows- how do they do it?! My show highlight is Ramsay de Mignon’s outrageous accent and perfectly paired attitude.
The cast did their mise en place on this one and it shows. Energetic and hilarious, they will have you screaming “Yes Chef!”.
If you’re going to go see one show this Fringe, make it this one.

The cast is very talented and the show is extremely laugh out loud funny.
I absolutely loved this show.! I’m not really a fan of musicals but thought I’d give this one a shot and it did not disappoint! It has the right balance of comedy and musical talent. If you want a good laugh and enjoy great vocals this is the show for you!

JHGs shows are always in my 5 star reviews, and “Dead Chef” is no exception! The hard work and genuine enjoyment of the performers is clear to see, their infectious joy and authenticity making it impossible not to be having a good time alongside them. Monique is a standout with her outstanding physical comedy and vocal talent, but each individual cast member has something truly special to offer their audience. The security rewind scene was my absolute favourite, and I hope to return to see this show for a second time!
Once again JHG nailed it! Loved the character Todd’s repeating line (you’ll understand what I mean when ya see it!)
All of it was fantastic! Especially the vocals WOW!
This production truly deserves a larger stage. Gauthier was extraordinary, drawing the audience in even without speaking. My only wish was that she had more solo opportunities – the way her voice fills the theatre with such power and presence, you could hear a pin drop. This is a production I recommend to everyone that wants to experience next-level theatre right in Winnipeg, and have a laugh.
I loved it! I really think this is JHG’s finest work so far. It’s funny, dark, and even touching. If you haven’t bought a ticket yet, you should because I bet it’s going to be a sell out!

A phenomenal recipe for a night out! This show serves up non-stop laughs from start to finish. Between the perfectly seasoned comedy, the fantastic music, and a deliciously talented cast of characters, this production deserves 3 Michelin stars.
I love slapstick comedy and these folks knocked it out of the park. Get tickets while you can!!
