The Green Grab depicts characters from The Wizard of Oz in a zany retelling. Dorothy is deported to Greenland during an American invasion. She meets the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion on her journey to find the underground Walrus. Together, they must outsmart the monstrous witch and his army of goons.
Is there any rainbow of peace to be found in these baffling, disturbing times? Based on accurate and neutral reporting, this political satire is performed by older teens and adults.
Great concept and I loved the way this parody was written. Actors were having a blast and so was the audience!!
A sloppy joe
I really wanted to like this production but was really disappointed. The
Idea of it was enticing, but the performance was not. Maybe the dialogue was great but I could not tell because although I struggled to listen, I could barely make out what was being said. And the puppetry seemed out of place, perhaps a production issue that did not pan out. If you’re going to tackle such an important part of the current state of the world you should do so with professional gusto or not at all. This amateurish attempt does us all a disservice and is just embarrassing.
Absolutely fantastic show 🖤 thank you to the gentlemen (Donald Trump and Scarecrow actors) that suggested I come check it out while we were attending Ai-kon.
This hilarious Wizard of Oz troupe did it’s best to out-parody the Parody to the South….much laughter and sounds of cathartic response from the audience. I totally loved all these characters, the delightful and very talented Straw Man, the Toto attitude, the snarky, serene good Witch, the robotic Tin Man, adorable Lion, …and of course the very recognizable character/Witch to the South and Evil was vanquished with kind humour!
Our current political situation seems like parody,
It’s a great show! The actor playing Trump was particularly good. Highly recommended.
Saw this show on the 17th. I loved the way The Green Grab worked as a commentary on the current American politics. Lots of laughs!
What an amazing show!! Very funny, the lion was amazing and so was Toto! The opening song “Hard Day’s Night” could have been cut but other than that it was lovely.
LOVED this show. Tempted to go a second time as I’m sure I didn’t catch all the funny references. Enjoyed the whole witty show, but watching the depiction of ICE (goons) and watching the wicked witch (who looked and sounded remarkably like the orange clown) get confronted near the end were extra fun!

This was a tough watch.
The whole show felt uncoordinated and lackluster. After the initial solo piece from Dorothy, the “Hard Day’s Night” remix set the tone for the show. The actors couldn’t follow along to the tempo of the backing track; some of the actors looked like they didn’t know the lyrics, and it was hard to make out any of the words through the cacophony of voices and the bass-guitar playing was so abysmal, they could have probably done without it. There were some decent performances from some actors (DJT/fairy) but it was overshadowed by a weak script and an even weaker production. Some of those musical numbers could and probably should have been scrapped. Some of the actors with puppets looked like they had forgotten about the puppeteering.
What could have been a quirky political commentary on US politics, was a poor mish-mash of words, bad singing and poor production quality.
Saw the opening show. It was full of laughs, and delightfully creative. Perfect for Fringe!
