This powerful new musical follows the extraordinary rise and heartbreaking exploitation of the Dionne quintuplets, born in the small farming town of Corbeil, Ontario, in 1934.
After their unprecedented birth inspires a struggling nation, government leaders and medical authorities seize custody under the guise of protection, transforming the infants into international sensations and the centerpiece of a booming tourist attraction known as QUINTLAND. When wartime interest fades and political motives shift, the girls are finally sent home after eight years, only to face further trauma in a household fractured by loss.
Bound by sisterhood, the quintuplets remain determined to move from a childhood that belonged to the world to an adulthood that finally belonged to themselves.
I saw Quintland for the second time today. It was even more impactful. So much thought and work was put into bringing every aspect of the production to life. What struck me most, though, was the heart that each of the actors put into their performances. I was especially impressed with the young children. Bravo to the composer and everyone who contributed to making this my favourite show of this year’s Fringe. I hope this show has the opportunity to be presented to a wider audience. It is a real gem.
This show was so moving. The cast put on one of the best shows I’ve seen. The music and the cast really brought it to life. The cast kept you engaged with their voices and acting. Well Done. So proud this is a Winnipeg written show and should be shown on the RMTC stage! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was an amazing show! Excellent job of making the historic Canadian Dionne quintuplets story not just educational, but entertaining as well. Well Done! Good pace, great music, exceptional story telling! Highly recommended!
Absolutely impeccable!❤️ All the wonderful children who played Yvonne were so good it left me in tears! The others were also amazing! Janna Larsen is a musical mastermind! The entire experience of watching Quintland was unique, inspiring, emotional, entertaining, and overall so so SO enjoyable! If this doesn’t make it to rainbow stage I’m going to fall into a deep deep depression. 1000000000/10
Wow, this show is a powerful musical that tells the story of the Dione Quints and it’s quite moving and entertaining. The music is amazing and you are going to want to see it again and again. Well Done producer, cast and crew.
Truly incredible! I am so in awe of the Director’s creativity and talent. The cast is outstanding and deliver the story line in such an emotional and impactful way with their beautiful singing. It is such a meaningful story that should be shared on a larger stage. RMTC this should be in your line up for 2027/28!
5 stars+~ absolutely a gem. The large ensemble cast sang, danced and owned the stage. The writing was exceptional as it covered a vast period yet told the story of Quintland within the structure of a musical. Like someone mentioned. the production belongs on a larger, more grander venue, perhaps Pantages or Rainbow Stage.

This is an amazing show that is incredibly ambitious in the scope of its storytelling, the breadth of the cast and the commitment to lyrics that propel the narrative while also landing emotional punches. This show deserves a run at Rainbow Stage. To the Free Press reviewer who said ‘too much music’ – hey, it’s a musical! It has moments of true brilliance. I laughed, I cried, what else could you want?!
Absolute cinema that Aaron guy was amazing bro, Conrad sweatman was on something writing that review, what do you mean you can’t tell them apart, THATS THE POINT!!!
The cast delivered strong performances, but the writing and direction let the show down. Most of the characters experienced little to no meaningful development, leaving the story feeling unfocused and lacking a clear sense of direction.
Additionally, the on-stage portrayal of sexual abuse involving children was deeply uncomfortable to watch. While it may have been intended to serve the narrative, its execution felt unnecessarily graphic and distracting.
Thank you, QUINTLAND, for a fantastic Fringe experience! It was better than Rainbow Stage… Bravo!

With regards to the reviews this show has received (one says too many songs; the other wants more songs), I believe the reviewers are missing the point: Watch the show and comment on what IS in the show. I mean, c’mon: The research behind this production, the carefully crafted lyrics, the excellent direction and polished performances. 5 Stars, QUINTLAND! This show is award-worthy.
What an UNFORGETTABLE performance! This production delivered incredible storytelling around a pivotal moment in Canadian history, bringing depth, emotion, and clarity to an event that deserves to be remembered. The cast’s remarkable vocal performances and expressive choreography elevated the whole performance, showcasing the kind of homegrown talent that makes the Manitoba’s arts community shine. Shoutout to the creator and composer of this entire musical, Janna Larsen! Just phenomenal!

Underrated! Day 5 of Fringe and I hadn’t heard a word about this show. I did see one poster outside another venue the day before. So I took a chance on it because of the rave reviews here (that’s what Fringe is all about) and I was not disappointed!
The vocals are above and beyond, especially from the youngest cast members. I attended the Sunday afternoon performance and it was a shame there were some sound issues because the one little girl was just singing her heart out, but her mic wasn’t working.
Take a chance on this like I did if you are a fan of musicals and/or Canadiana.
Excellent production! A shout out to Aaron Babiuk-Frost for his chilling portrayal of the Dionne Quintuplet’ father. This show is a must-see!
LOVED this show, and bravo to Janna Larsen for such a moving work. I saw her musical about Louis Riel a few years ago and it was equally well done! Why don’t we see any of her work at Royal MTC or Rainboe Stage? Local writer & director, Canadian stories – should be a no-brainer!

I am sorry that Conrad Sweatman completely misunderstood this show, and that the review of QUINTLAND on the U of M radio station referred to the composer as Samantha Larsen (instead of Janna Larsen). One star for reviewers this year – hugely disappointing.

Don’t listen to the Free Press review. Yes, musicals have lots of music in them. This style of musical is sung-through, so yes, there is a lack of dialogue. The story is in the lyrics… perhaps if you listened to the lyrics instead of waiting for the dialogue you feel is necessary in a musical, you would have understood the story more and connected with the characters.

Conrad Sweatman’s review is ignorant and uninformed, and I’m sorry for him that he doesn’t get what musical theatre is as an art form.

I have been to a lot of Fringe plays, and Quintland was by far the best. A brilliant presentation of a slice of Canadian history that is little known today. Outstanding writing, direction and performances.
This show was small but mighty, an absolute delight to take in! The cast and crew did a phenomenal job in bringing to life a pivotal moment in Canadian history in an entertaining and moving way. Congrats!

Musicals with some songs and spoken scenes is so 1950’s. Live in the now, Conrad. This company was fantastic.
LOVED this show and so irritated about Conrad Sweatman’s review. He gave this show 3 stars because there were too many songs… It’s a MUSICAL!!!! 🙄 I give Quintland a strong 5 STARS and highly recommend it… if you can handle a musical with songs 😏

I read the Free Press review of Quintland just before seeing it tonight, and am baffled. Conrad Sweatman clearly knows nothing about musical theatre. The sheer amount of detail in this musical, from the lyrics to the music to the storytelling to the polished, professional performance is astounding. GREAT WORK, Winnipeg Broadway Theatre. You deserve the enthusiastic standing ovation!

Having just visited the Dionne Quintuplets’ museum in Ontario, I was curious how this complicated story would be told and am in awe. An amazing job in both the writing and performing of this show. *****

I thoroughly enjoyed QUINTLAND the Musical and highly recommend you see it! A shout out to Holly Owens as the mother of the quintuplets in her passionate and beautifully executed solo about the loss she feels in watching her quintuplets grow up from afar. An extremely talented cast and beautifully written story.
Quintland is a moving lesson in Canadian history with excellent performances and gorgeous vocals. LOVED the circus scene and hope to win one of the t-shirt giveaways when I see it again!
The show is spectacular! The score and script are amazing. The acting and singing are phenomenal. The harmonies in the last selection moved me to tears. I was especially impressed with the 11 children. Don’t miss this show. You will be deeply moved by the storyline and blown away by the incredible local talent.
This is way beyond Fringe-level ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The story is easy to follow and really pulls you in, and the actors and singers are incredibly talented. The standing ovation was hard-earned and well-deserved!
The best show I have seen in a long time. All of the performers were amazing but special shout out to the young performers who were extra amazing! Well done everyone. We are returning for a second performance this week.
