The Summer I Turned Sparkly

Meraki Theatre’s Adult Ensemble

Everything good, everything magical happens between June and August. It’s summertime at Distant-Cousins Beach, the single greatest place in the world for boy-focused Belly… or Bella… honestly, even she’s not sure anymore.

Blending together the worlds of Twilight and The Summer I Turned Pretty, this musical parody is packed with original music and characters you know and love. Will she choose the brooding, mysterious Conrad Cullen who’s been avoiding her all summer, or the warm, loyal Jacob Fisher whose facial hair is looking better than ever?

From the team behind the completely sold-out runs of Midnight (2023), Barbie: A Parody (2024), BugJuice (2025) and the 5 STAR Kids Fringe hit Rewritten (2025) comes a sparkly, sun-soaked comedy you won’t want to miss.

  1. The Summer I Turned Sparkly is a charming, perfect mashup of both Twilight and The Summer I Turned Pretty. In just one hour, the cast and their characters delivered light hearted humour and truly sparkled throughout the show (pun intended). We enjoyed this show so much!!

  2. Meraki Theatre BRAVO! We laughed for the entire show! Amazing vocal and acting performances by the 6 person cast! The combo of The Summer I turned Pretty and Twilight is perfection! An absolute must see!!!!

  3. Absolutely hilarious from start to finish! The cast delivers exceptional acting and vocal performances, and the original songs are so catchy I was singing them on my way out of the theatre. A fantastic show to kick-off Fringe this year!
