’80s Commercials

TJ Dawe

Fringe fave TJ Dawe (The Slipknot, Medicine, Blueberries Are Assholes) returns, riffing on TV commercials from the 1980s, a decade when everything was excellent, choice, and unintentionally, hopelessly bizarre. Expect pastel colours, zippy computer graphics, and jingles that’ll stay in your brain for weeks.

“This guy’s headed for the stand-up hall of fame” — the Georgia Straight.
“Dawe can actually make you hurt with laughter” — Montreal Gazette
“A flawless performer” — Charleston City Paper
“Come and see what a real virtuoso can do” — Edmonton Journal.

  1. So glad to get to see TJ at the Fringe. Great show. Laughed ’til I cried. A must-see for anyone (especially kids) who watched TV in the 80s.
