He dreams of kings, castles and knights on epic quests. In fact, Matthew lives on a farm in a quiet part of the kingdom toiling away in the agrarian detainment that is his ordinary farm-boy life.

When his teenage escape-from-the-farm plan is pre-empted by a necessary late-night evacuation of the farm, he is pulled into a globe-spanning adventure he couldn’t have imagined. With the help of friends, family and characters out of legends themselves, Matthew must face the king, warrior, magician and lover to win or lose the throne that is truly his.
